The Alliance for Coney Island works to develop wide ranging free public programming throughout the year! Through our own platforms, as well as through our partnerships at the local and city wide levels, we plan and implement events for both our community residents and visitors throughout the neighborhood.

POLAR BEAR PLUNGE

Not only is this New York's grandest and most unique New Year's tradition, it raises funds for some of the most amazing non-profit and community organizations in Coney Island which are dedicated to developing a resurgent and sustainable neighborhood! Every New Year's Day, over 15,000 brave souls from all over the world join us in this long-lived tradition!

NEW

YEAR'S EVE

Ring in the New Year's with your family and friends with a night featuring live music, entertainment and a spectacular fireworks display in our iconic Neighborhood! An event that our local residents and visitors look forward to, New Years's eve in Coney Island is never a dull sight!

CONEY ISLAND MUSIC FESTIVAL

One of the largest free summer festivals in New York City, the Coney Island Music Festival is a full-day multi-stage music festival within our historical Amusement District! Featuring multiple well-known artists spread across multiple genres, New York City's finest food trucks and merchandise stalls, this festival has garnered increased attention over the years!

FIREWORKS

Where else would you witness a free spectacular fireworks display every Friday night in the summer? Every year, the Alliance for Coney Island organizes a 10 week series of Friday Night Fireworks displays and a 4th of July special for all families and visitors to enjoy! Bring your family and friends down to the beach and watch the fireworks along the beautiful sea horizon!

FLICKS ON THE BEACH

There is no better place for summer movie nights than on the beach in Coney Island! The Alliance for Coney Island airs free movies on a jumbo inflatable screen on Monday evenings for eight weeks every summer! From family friendly to action packed films all for free, all you need is a comfortable fold-able chair or blanket and your family or friends!

TALENT SHOW

A performance filled day, the annual Coney Island Talent Show brings out some of the best amateur to professional talent from the New York City area for a friendly competition in age brackets for cash prizes and giveaways! Dances, music and comedy and more, all in the centre of the Amusement District every summer.

CHILDREN'S HALLOWEEN PARADE

A fun-packed day with activities like face painting, caricature artists, balloon twisting, trick or treating and more, the Alliance for Coney Island leaves no stone unturned for our kids in the community. Every year, over 2000 children and parents attend our official Halloween Costume Contest and Parade!

SAND SCULPTING CONTEST

Each year, thousands flock to Coney Island beach to produce the most beautiful works of art using only sand, water and their creative minds! Families and groups of friends participate in our sand sculpting contest, while others cheer them on and watch as grains of sand are turned into master pieces.

HOLIDAY TOY GIVEAWAY

Every child in Coney Island deserves a bright holiday and we make sure of it! Through our outreach to sponsors and community organizations, we collect and distribute over 200 toys to children within our community. At our holiday toy giveaway event, we organize fun-filled activities and games such as face painting, arts and crafts and caricature artists for our children as well as provide free food!

BOARDWALK BARRELS OF FUN

An annual tradition to welcome the official beach season into Coney Island! Participants gather to paint the trash barrels along the Boardwalk to enliven the landscape and show off their creative artistic skills!
